Dr. Kalpana Sarangi is a qualified M. Skin, she started as a dermatologist and subsequently established herself as the Head of the Cosmetology Centre at Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital. She has more than 19 years of practice in Dermatology and Cosmetology. She is among the few qualified Skin Specialist in India to have established as a Cosmetic-Dermatologist. "Cosmetology concerns the aesthetic appearance of the skin, hair, body and nails and procedures which aim for the improvement of the appearance of these can include oxidation, surgery, botox, fillers, creams and several other non-invasive treatments," she explains. "The main reasons people go in for these are due to social pressure or to simply look good." Among the popular treatments are those that address acne, skin pigmentation, hair fall and rejuvenation of skin, she offers. Dr. Kalpana Sarangi is a leading Cosmetologist & Dermatologist in India. She is the daughter of Dr. Akulananda Sarangi who was the Former Physician to the President of India Mr. V V Giri. She has to her credit more than 100 published articles in Indian and International Journals and also co-authored “Textbook and Atlas of Dermato-surgery and Cosmetology”, “Manual of Dermatology Surgery”, etc. She is a recipient of 2 Gold Medals at National Level to her credit. She is a good orator and has represented India in delivering lectures on “Skin, Hair and Nail” care abroad. Widely travelled across the globe on various scientific programmes and seminars. She also conducts educative and awareness programmes pertaining to common problems of skin and hair in school s and colleges in collaboration with pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical companies. Lastly but not the least in the year 2006 she won the Pantene Shine Award as one of the Six Beauty & Grooming Experts in India. She is on board of P&G, Gillette, , Aditya Birla Group, etc. as Scientific Advisor. She has been a key member in launching Beauty and Cosmetic products in India like Head & Shoulder, OLAY 7, Pantene, Regenerist etc as a Scientific Advisor.
