Dr. M S Chandramouli graduated from Bangalore Medical college in 1986,and subsequently obtained his masters and left the shores to pursue higher surgical training in the United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow and has worked in various clinical capacities at university hospital Manchester and North West of England. He has been a teaching faculty at JSS Medical college and has mentored many students in the craft of surgery. He comes with a wealth of surgical experience spanning over a period of 30 years, having worked in some of the most reputed institutions in the world.
The academic excellence of Dr Chandramouli is reflected in many of his publications and chapters in surgical books. He is an accredited trainer in advanced endoscopic techniques by the British Society of Gastroenterology. He has been instrumental in propagating the idea of one stop colorectal clinic for early diagnosis of cancer.
Special interests and expertise
A common sense approach to general surgical conditions like hernias, thyroid and emergency surgery is his strength aided by expertise in laparoscopic/minimal invasive technology. Complex incisional hernias, prolapse, achalasia and complicated gallbladder surgeries are his areas of expertise.
His areas of special interest include benign and malignant disease of gastrointestinal system particularly Colorectal Cancers. The breast conservation approach in breast diseases has also won him wide acclaim.
He is a member of professional bodies like Medical Defense Union, Association of surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland ( ASGBI) and has been a trustee on the board of Yeshaswini Trust which has done pioneering work in affordable health care. He is a keen teacher, compassionate and strongly believes in holistic patient centric approach to achieve best outcomes.
