Dr. Akshay Hari is a highly credentialed and eminent Neurosurgeon in North Bangalore providing quality neurological service for patients, with a wide experience in Minimally Invasive Brain and Spine Surgeries, Micro-Neurosurgery, Critical Care Management of Head and Spine Injuries, Brain Tumors, and Spinal Deformities. Over a number of years of rigorous training in Neurosurgery, he has travelled the world, receiving training and expertise in some of the best neurosurgical centres in the USA, Europe and Australia, deriving experience in a diverse range of areas in brain and spinal surgery. He also undertook a prestigious AO Spine fellowship and was granted an AO Spine Research grant for his pioneering work on the use of ultrasound in reducing radiation during spine surgery. He is also actively working on a pilot project with Raman Research Institute, for developing an indigenous, cost-effective Brain-Computer Interface for paralyzed patients. Dr Akshay was then granted an esteemed “Ambassadorship” under the aegis of the American Association of South Asian Neurosurgeons (AASAN) with Dr Praveen Mummaneni at the University of California, San Francisco, USA. He also went on to pursue a highly competitive fellowship, obtaining subspecialty training and expertise in the treatment of complex spinal surgery, including robotic spinal surgery and minimally invasive spinal surgery at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. Dr Akshay applies the latest state-of-the-art techniques, including advanced minimally invasive surgery, as well as navigation guided spinal surgery, to the treatment of a range of spinal conditions, including disc prolapse, degenerative spinal disease, tumours, deformity and spinal trauma. He prides himself on providing every patient timely, compassionate and personalised care of the highest standard. He is skilled in performing clinical research, regularly attends medical conferences to stay abreast of new technologies in the field and highly resourceful, with an open mind to exploring alternative treatment options to provide patients with the best possible health outcomes.
