Dr Mukundan Seshadri

Dr. Mukundan Seshadri is Chief of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Manipal Hospital Whitefield. He has won a Gold medal in Physiology & Pathology, Silver Medal in General Surgery and Gold Medal in Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery. He has executed 7700 open heart surgeries. His special interests in Cardiac includes, Coronary Artery reconstruction for Diffuse Coronary artery disease using onlay arterial patches, Minimally invasive cardiac surgery and Valvular heart surgery including mitral valve repairand mitral and aortic. He has interests in valve replacement procedures including Surgery for Atrial fibrillation and left atrial reduction, Stentless aortic valve replacement and Paediatric Heart Surgery. His Vascular interests lies in Bentall procedure for Ascending aortic root replacement, Ascending aortic repair with valve sparing and Aortic arch and descending aortic surgery. He is also interested in VATS for multiple situations like empyema, Bullectomy, thoracic sympathectomy, decortication and lung biopsy and other thoracic procedures like Lobectomy and pneumonectomy. He has more than 50 publications in National and International Journals and more than 75 presentations in National and International meetings.
