Interventional Cardiology

Dr Deepak Kumar Mishra is an Interventional Cardiologist practising in Mumbai and Thane. He has a keen interest in the areas of primary angioplasty, complex ECGs, and newer antiplatelet therapy. He did his undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD) medical studies at Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, during which time he worked at the associated Lok Nayak Hospital and GB Pant Hospital. Immediately after his MD, Dr Mishra gained admission to the Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences in Mumbai, where he completed the DM (Cardiology) programme and also cleared the DNB (Cardiology) examination of the National Board of Examinations. He worked with Bombay Hospital for about six years. Currently, Dr Deepak Mishra functions as an independent consultant. He is a Consultant Cardiologist at several hospitals in Mumbai and Thane, including Cumballa Hill Hospital, Lady Ratan Tata Institute, Platinum group of hospitals, Lifecare Hospital, Bethany Hospital and Vedanta Hospital. He is also available for private consultation. Dr Mishra has considerable and exposure to various interventional cardiology procedures such as coronary angiographies, angioplasties, right and left heart catheterizations, FFR, and valvular work consisting of balloon mitral, pulmonary and aortic valvuloplasties. He has also been trained in device closures (ASD and PDA), all types of pacemaker implantations and implantable cardiac defibrillators including the combo devices (CRT-D). He is also familiar with peripheral vascular intervention including the common femoral artery, iliac artery, renal artery, abdominal aortic, subclavian artery, carotid artery stenosis interventions and venous interventions. The non-invasive work done by him includes routine ward rounds lead ECG interpretations, Holter monitoring of indoor patients and 2D echocardiography/colour Doppler including dobutamine stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and treadmill stress tests. He also has a keen interest in nuclear medicine and can interpret stress thallium and SPECT images. Dr Deepak Mishra has many of his articles and papers published in peer-reviewed medical journals and newspapers or presented by him and his colleagues at conferences and symposia. He is a member of several professional associations and is actively involved in the teaching of undergraduate medical/diploma students and junior residents.
