Dr M Gopichand

Dr. M Gopichand is an efficient and surgically skilled with a great safety record. He has done more than 3000 cases of stone surgery with laser lithotripsy. He is expert at PCNL, mini-perc, and RIRS. He is adept at the latest in stone treatment. He has also done more than 50 cases of holes and also treated more than 1000 cases of the prostate disease. He received his undergraduate (MBBS) & then postgraduate (MS, General Surgery)degrees from BYL Nair & Topiwala National Medical College Mumbai University. After the residency in urology (MCH, DNB-Urology) at Bombay hospital institute of medical sciences, Mumbai, he was an assistant professor at prestigious NIMS, Hyderabad. Then he worked as consultant urologist at various centers in the state - he currently serves as consultant, urologist and urological cancer specialist, KIMS Hospital, Secundrabad. He is a recognized DNB teacher who has a super specialty DNB Urology student under him. He has visiting training fellowship in robotic surgery offered at Georgia, North Atlanta. Dr. M Gopichand has performed over 3000 major and supermajor Uro-oncology surgeries at KIMS hospital including over 50 robotic surgeries with excellent outcomes. He was instrumental in setting up the robotic surgery program at the hospital. He has performed robotic radical prostatectomies with an average blood loss of around 200 ml (international benchmark 100-200ml), the urinary incontinence rates are 12 % at 8 months (international benchmark 9-15%). He has performed over 200 radical and partial nephrectomies by open, laparoscopic and robotic methods with a perioperative mortality of less than 1 % ( international benchmark 0-1.2%) and morbidity of 3% ( international benchmark 2-5%).
