OCD symptoms

Asked for patient, 52 years

I am writing to seek your guidance regarding a close relative who has been experiencing symptoms that appear consistent with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) over the past few years. The condition seems to have worsened in recent months, and it has become increasingly difficult for the family to manage. The symptoms we have observed include: Religious OCD (intrusive thoughts and compulsions related to religion) Excessive fear related to urine/contamination Frequent and repetitive hand washing after almost every activity Rewashing the same clothes multiple times Growing distrust or doubt in routine activities The patient has been under treatment for approximately 1 to 1.5 years and is currently taking prescribed medications. However, we have not noticed any significant or consistent improvement so far. Given your extensive experience in psychiatry, I would sincerely appreciate your expert opinion on this. We would like to know even if appointment is possible.

Hi. Sure. I need to check if it is poor compliance of the patient or if the patient needs referral to the psychiatrist. Further which, we can start with exposure and response prevention therapy. You can do that by scheduling an appointment online by clicking on my profile.
