OCD symptoms

I am writing to seek your guidance regarding a close relative who has been experiencing symptoms that appear consistent with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) over the past few years. The condition seems to have worsened in recent months, and it has become increasingly difficult for the family to manage. The symptoms we have observed include: Religious OCD (intrusive thoughts and compulsions related to religion) Excessive fear related to urine/contamination Frequent and repetitive hand washing after almost every activity Rewashing the same clothes multiple times Growing distrust or doubt in routine activities The patient has been under treatment for approximately 1 to 1.5 years and is currently taking prescribed medications. However, we have not noticed any significant or consistent improvement so far. Given your extensive experience in psychiatry, I would sincerely appreciate your expert opinion on this. We would like to know even if appointment is possible.

Ms Meitrai Mehta replied

Hi. Sure. I need to check if it is poor compliance of the patient or if the patient needs referral to the psychiatrist. Further which, we can start with exposure and response prevention therapy. You can do that by scheduling an appointment online by clicking on my profile. View answer

Constant sadness, heaviness, mild suicidal thought

Crying constantly deeply, headache or head heaviness, tired but cant sleep, distant from everyone inclusding my parents, fighting with my fiance, later regreting and telling sorry for being like this, i am scared of even doing an injection but now i feel like it will be good if somehow i die. I am really scared because i have never ever felt this strong feeling of ending my life or even thinking about ending my life. Everytime something happens i had hope. Never ever i thought of ending as an option. Should i be concerned? Or is just some phase? Will this feeling go away? I dont want to be like this. But i cant help it.

Ms Meitrai Mehta replied

I hear that you're going through a lot in your life lately. Suicidal ideation that you have described needs to be taken seriously, for which I would request you to consult a nearest psychiatrist. You can also book an appointment with me and we can start with crisis intervention and other distress tolerance skills which will help you cope better in your environment. View answer
