Depersonalisation

Depersonalisation can feel scary, but it is not dangerous and it can improve. It often comes with anxiety and stress. Example: you may feel “I’m not myself” or think your face looks different—this is anxiety affecting perception, not real change. What you can do: Grounding: hold ice, name 5 things you see, 3 things you hear. Body care: regular sleep, light walking, warm showers. Stop checking mirrors—it increases fear. Talk kindly to yourself: “This feeling will pass.”
