Dr. D R Sekhar, born on June 6th, 1946, secured MBBS degree from Mahadevapa Rampure Medical College, Gulbarga during December 1969. Acquired M S General Surgery from Bangalore Medical College Bangalore, during April 1976. Specialty Mch degree in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery during 1982 from Madurai Medical College. Following graduation joined as a Medical officer at primary health unit, under Government of Karnataka Health & Family Planning Services, at K R Pet, Chikmagalur district from 1971 to 1973. Joined as a lecturer in Plastic Surgery at Bangalore Medical College after securing M S, General Surgery during 1976. While in government service worked in various capacity at Bangalore Medical College, Hubli Medical College and also at Mysore Medical College. Served as Professor & Head of the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery He has worked as prof of Plastic Surgery at JNMC Medical College Belgaum. He was Honorary Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore. He was also prof & HOD Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre. Working as senior Consultant Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon at Sagar Hospitals Jayanagar Bangalore.
