Dr. Vikhram Ramasubramanian is the founder and the chief executive officer of Ahana Hospitals. The need for holistic neuropsychiatric healthcare prepared Dr. Vikhram to establish Ahana Hospitals. Throughout his career of more than 15 years, Dr. Vikhram has served in a variety of executive and leadership roles, in healthcare delivery and healthcare information technology space. In the year of 2009, he founded Ahana Hospitals, an 8 bedded neuropsychiatric hospital with limited resources. Today Ahana Hospitals has grown to be a multi-location, 120 bedded brain and behavioural medicine facility, notably the largest mental health facility in Tamilnadu. Trained at IIM Ahmadabad, he spearheads a team of more than 100 professionals working for the vision to provide the optimum care and service within available resources by assuring that people get their best hospitality. Dr.Vikhram received MD in General Medicine from St. Petersburg and MD in Psychiatry from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai,Certificate program in Geriatric Psychiatry from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow. He is the national convener of the Indian Psychiatric Society. His clinical research is based on phase III and phase IV study of pharmacological trails.Dr.Vikhram’s core area of work is on child and adolescent behaviour and addiction psychiatry. He and His team caters for a gamut of neuropsychiatric disorders such as alcohol dependence, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety disorders, marital problems, child and adolescent disorders- mental retardation, learning disability, autism, ADHD, etc. He emphasis that there needs to be a holistic focus on not just the curative aspects of illness but also the preventive approaches to enhance mental health (Stress management programs, Positive Mental Health promotion, etc).
