Dr Srilekha Nair

After graduating from M S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore,Dr Srilekha Nair (Cherian), migrated to United Kingdom. During her 14 year stay in United Kingdom she completed her post-graduation in General Medicine (MRCP-UK), as well as the higher specialist training programme in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy (CCT -Gastroenterology). She then worked as consultant gastroenterologist at the Frimley Park Hospital NHS Trust which is affiliated to the Military of Defence UK. Her main interests are in Acid peptic disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Therapeutic Endoscopy. She is a JAG accredited endoscopist. Apart from diagnostic endoscopy she is proficient in procedures such as removal of polyps, early cancers, dilatation and stenting of strictures, endotherapy for gastric bleeding etc. She has published many papers in peer reviewed journals and attended various conferences where she has also presented her work. She returned to India to help her family in the running of a 50 yr old mission hospital that serves the needy population of South India. She has also co-founded The Liver Foundation, a charity, which aims to reduce the burden of liver disease in India by promoting awareness, providing vaccination, enabling early detection and offering affordable treatment choices to those in need.
