Dr. Alpa Atul Poorabia has 24 years of clinical practical work experience in various fields of Ophthalmology after completing post-graduation (M.S.-Ophthalmology) She has completed training in “Cornea & Anterior Segment” at LVPrasad Eye Hospital, Hyderabad Her areas of expertise are Cataract (Phacoemulsification and SICS), Cornea and Refractive laser surgeries (PRK/Surface ablation, Blade LASIK, Femto LASIK, ReLEx SMILE, Phakic lens (ICL) & Keratoconus solutions). This includes 9+ years of extensive Refractive Surgery experience (with more than 12,000 successful Refractive surgeries) at Maxivision Superspeciality Eye Hospitals, Hyderabad. During this period, she led The Department of Refractive Surgery in the form of the Head. She is a well-trained Cataract surgeon with more than 7000 successful Cataract surgeries. During her tenure in Gujarat, she has received accolades from the Government of Gujarat for performing more than 700 successful Cataract surgeries per year for consecutively 5 years. She has worked as an Assistant Professor in different medical colleges (M & J Western Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar Medical College) in Gujarat for 7+ years. Other areas of expertise include- Glaucoma, Medical Retina, Pediatric Ophthalmology. She is a clinically highly efficient ophthalmologist with very good rapport with all age group patients and with the staff of hospitals.
