Dr. Ashita Mahendru is a psychologist with an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology, Member of American Psychological Association(APA) and licenses in Clinical as well as Rehabilitation Psychology, she's fit for the job profile of a clinical psychologist especially with children adolescents and young adults. she has over 5 years of experience in dealing with clients with academic difficulty and stress, adjustment issues, career and goal confusion, time management, learning Problem, Anxiety & Depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder,Friendship Issues, relationship issues, Social Pressure,Suicide, Psychosis, Self-harm, substance/drugs misuse and eating disorders,Diversity and equality issues, Child and adolescent and family psycho-social development, Bullying/Cyberbullying, Promoting protective factors and good parenting, Panic attacks, Traumatic events, Aggressive behaviors. She has done multiple case studies on students with the average being 5-6 students per day predominantly in the area of drug abuse, technology addiction, depression, anxiety and learning disorders. This opportunity has exposed counselors like her in assessing the stress factors most common to students. She has conducted workshops and group lectures for students on substance use, excessive use of technology, assertive training and social skills training, personality development. Recently participated as a trainee in the ‘National Training Program in Assessment And Management Of Technology Addiction’ organized by SHUT Clinic (Service For Healthy Use Of Technology), NIMHANS Centre for Well Being, NIMHANS, Bengaluru to enhance my knowledge of technology and drug abuse( non chemical and chemical drugs) which is common to students nowadays. Prior to this, she have worked with Department of Psychiatry, PGIMS Rohtak, for more than 2 years wherein conducted neuro-psychological and psychometric testing/ behavioral analysis on patients with mental disorders, performed IQ tests, developmental screening tests, aptitude tests, personality tests and multiple screening tests. She has worked with substance use patients under Drug-DE-addiction center and patients with Psycho-sexual disorders in the State Institute of Mental Health, Haryana. She worked with specialists in this field over the period of time as an intern or a trainee and gathered knowledge and experience. Also, she's been working in this area for quite some time now and has been actively involved in conferences and seminars. Presented and published papers and review articles on themes like domestic violence, internet addiction, the impact of counseling and relaxation techniques and others.
