Dr Ravi Krishna Kalathur

Dr. Kalathur completed his Anaesthesiology training from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai. He later trained in Pain Management under Dr. Srinivas Chiravuri, Director- Implants Programme, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. He is now an invited Faculty at the same Pain Clinic (U of Mich, Ann Arbor) he was trained. He is currently a Senior Consultant in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, Chennai. He is a pioneer in using ultrasound in pain interventions and received his training for the same at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Germany, and Austria. He is the first and only Pain Physician from India to be awarded prestigious Certified Interventional Pain Sonlogist - CIPS by World Institute of Pain - USA. He is the only Pain Management Specialist in India to be awarded both FIPP & CIPS certification, by the World Institute of Pain- USA. He is a certified Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, awarded by Spanish University- UCAM.He is the only American Board certified in Headache Medicine. He is the founder of Chennai Ultrasound Study Group - CUSG, a school for teaching Pain Interventions. He also conducts workshops at international conferences in the area of ultrasound and Fluoroscopic guided pain interventions.
