Dr M. G. Bhat

Dr. M.G. Bhat is a Senior Consultant Surgeon, with more than three decades of experience in Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery. He currently consults at Nova Specialty Hospitals and Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. His academic qualifications include MBBS, MS, FRCS (England), FRCS (Edinburgh). He was awarded the Dr.TMA Pai Blue Ribbon and Gold Medal for Best Outgoing Student of the College during his MBBS. An expert in Bariatric Surgery and Surgical Gastroenterology, Dr. M.G. Bhat has a special interest in Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery and Laparoscopy. He initiated Laparoscopic surgery in 1992 in Karnataka, and is now one of the well-known laparoscopic surgeons in the country, with more than 10,000 surgeries to his name. He has an excellent reputation for his services, and he has received many honours in the field of medicine. To add to his list of accomplishments, Dr. M.G Bhat was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award by the Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, India.
