Dr Chitra Sreenivasa Murthy

Dr. Chitra Sreenivasa Murthy did her MBBS from SSMC, Tumkur in 2001 and Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli in 2006. She was conferred the Membership to Royal College of obstetricians and Gynecologists (UK) in 2010. Post membership, she was involved in community-based obstetrics and gynecology for a year, in conducting free clinics to urban poor and training of health workers. Dr.Chitra is Currently a Senior Consultant of Obstetrics & Gynecology at SAKRA World Hospital. Prior to this, she has worked as a consultant and director of South Bangalore OBGYN doctors practicing evidence-based medicine to provide quality health care to women across all sections of the society. She has a keen interest in teaching and training candidates for MRCOG. She is an active trainer in clinical skills and simulation training. She has co-coordinated the MRCOG part 2 weekend course conducted by the Bangalore RCOG trust .She has been a faculty for skill training and Emergency Obstetric Care, locally as well as for outreach programs and CTG training programs conducted by BSOG and Bangalore RCOG Trust. She has also been involved in grafting protocols and training nurse/midwifery staff for improving standards of care. She holds the post of Treasurer for the Bangalore RCOG Trust presently. She is also a research guide to students of SVYASA, a Deemed University. Her special interests are medical disorders in obstetrics, managing high-risk pregnancies and vaginal surgeries.
