Laser Deep cleaning

Asked for Others, 55 Years
My teeth have become very weak, and I am unable to bite anything, including roti. I learned that this is because my gums are infected (periodontitis), and I have been prescribed deep cleaning with a laser. I would like to know what the risks associated with this procedure are. Can it loosen the teeth or recede the gums further? Does this procedure cause serious bacterial infection?
