Chest/rib pain with breathlessness

My father has been experiencing pain in the upper abdomen and rib cage area for the past 3–4 days. The pain is located between the ribs, just above the stomach. He is also experiencing episodes of breathlessness, a feeling of heaviness in the chest, and occasional spikes in blood pressure. The pain is not clearly related to movement and sometimes occurs along with difficulty in breathing.
