He was awarded the most prestigious 'Padma Shri Award' by the Hon. President of India Shri Pranab Mukherji (2013). In addition to Coronary Artery Surgery, he has thousands of valve surgeries and congenital heart surgeries to his credit. He is committed to doing free heart surgeries for underprivileged children under the Rotary Foundation 'Gift of Life' scheme with additional support from Max India Foundation and Health Education and Research Trust.
