Dr.Rakshay Shetty is the lead Pediatric Intensivist in Rainbow Children’s Hospital. He shares the responsibility of patient care and training with the Pediatric intensive care and Emergency medicine team. He completed his training in Pediatrics from PGIMER, Chandigarh. Post residency, he worked as a senior resident in Pediatric Intensive Care at the same institute before moving to the prestigious Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto to complete his Fellowship Program in Intensive Care. Dr.Rakshay Shetty is a founder member of Indian Pediatric Simulation society, PediSTARS and has been instrumental in spreading simulation-based training through conferences and workshops throughout the country. He has represented India globally in the field of simulation-based education and was an invited visiting professor at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In addition to his enthusiasm in Simulation, he has a keen interest in the field of point of care ultrasound, cardiopulmonary interactions and Neurointensive care. He is currently an Associate editor for Journal of Pediatric Critical care. He has also contributed to the book chapters related to the practice of Pediatric critical care medicine and has a few international research publications to his credit. As a member of IAP, Indian Society of Critical care Medicine and IAP intensive care chapter, he has delivered many lectures and conducted workshops nationally. He also volunteered as a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist for the camps held by Mending Kids International (MKI) and International Child Heart foundation (ICHF) for their missions in Africa. He started first DM (Pediatric Nephrology) MCI approved course in the country in 2013. He is also a Hon. Fellow of Indian Academy of Pediatrics and Indian Society of Nephrology. Dr. Kishore is a Member of IPNA strategic planning committee. He has Represented the Asian continent on the governing council of International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) as the Assistant Secretary between the years 2007 to 2010. He was also the Asst. Secretary-General of Asian Pediatric Nephrology Association between 2007 to 2013. He has delivered guest lectures at International Pediatric Nephrology Association meetings at Seattle, Adelaide and New York and Shanghai; also at International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis meeting at Montreal, Canada. He was the forefront of establishing the Children’s Kidney Care Center at St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore. He is also the former Chairperson for Indian Pediatric Nephrology Group, President of Bangalore Pediatric Society, Vice President of the Southern Chapter of Indian Society of Nephrology. He is the Vice Chairman of Zonal Coordination Committee of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka – for promotion of deceased donor transplant program. Dr. Kishore is the recipient of research grants from Canadian Institute of Health, Department of Bio-technology, ICMR -Indian Council of Medical Research and Recipient of a grant from Sir Ratan Tata trust for educational and training programs in Pediatric Nephrology and has numerous publications in National & International Medical Journals under his name.
