Dr. Rohit Goyal is a Consultant Gastroenterologist.Dr. Goyal has an MD in Internal Medicine (2003) and a DM in Gastroenterology (2009) as his postgraduate and postdoctoral qualifications respectively. Between the MD and DM programmes, Dr. Goyal served as Senior Resident Medicine at GMCH Chandigarh for six months; Senior Resident Gastroenterology at GB Pant Hospital for a year; and, as Senior Resident in Medicine at the SPS Apollo Hospital in Ludhiana for one year. He started the three-year postdoctoral DM degree programme in the Department of Gastroenterology and Human Nutrition Unit, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Dr. Rohit Goyal served as Senior Research Associate at AIIMS from August 2009 to April 2012. He then took up the post of Assistant Professor (Gastroenterology) at GB Pant Hospital, where he continued until April 2013. Dr. Rohit Goyal is well-versed with all aspects of Gastroenterology. He is familiar with UGI endoscopy procedures, having performed over 3,000 diagnostic endoscopies and polypectomy, sclerotherapy, variceal band ligation, stricture dilatation (balloon and Savary Gilliard), achalasia dilatation, pyloric dilatation, injection therapy of peptic ulcer, foreign body removal, etc. He has also performed over 500 diagnostic colonoscopies and more than 150 diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP procedures. Further, he has considerable experience with double balloon enteroscopy, intra-operative enteroscopy, ultrasonography of abdomen for hepatobiliary diseases, liver biopsy, liver abscess drainage, HVPG, and esophageal and anorectal manometry.
