Dr Ashok Rangarajan is an ophthalmic surgeon who is passionate about quality care, complete patient satisfaction, ethical and evidence based practice of ophthalmology. He further did a short observership in retinal vascular conditions from Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, USA and in Glaucoma from Moorfields’ Eye Hospital, London. Dr Ashok Rangarajan worked as a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist in one of the premier eye institutes of the country, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai for over a decade. He was also the consultant ophthalmologist at Belhoul Apollo Hospital in Dubai, and the Director of Eye Services of the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation in Nigeria. His main areas of expertise and vast experience are cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma surgery and combined cataract and glaucoma surgeries. These surgeries involve the use of modern technology such as cold phacoemulsification, Micro Incision Phacoemulsification (MICS) and use of techniques and lenses to give spectacle free vision post surgery.
