He also performs in laparoscopic gastrointestinal, inguinal hernia repair, and cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal). He is affiliated to several National as well as International professional organizations. Dr. Srikanth earned his bachelor degree (MBBS) from Government Medical College, from Bellary in 1987. After attaining his degree, in 1992 he went to Mysore medical college for doing MS (General Surgery).His FRCS was completed at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeon Glasgow, UKthe UK in 1996. Dr. Srikanth was appointed as the Registrar in Surgical Oncology at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in October 1992. After two years, he was recruited as a lecturer in General Surgery at the M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore. In 1996 September, he was again appointed as the Registrar in General Surgery at the Llandough Hospital, Cardiff in the UK. From 1998 till now, he has been serving as a consultant in general and laparoscopic surgery in various high profiled hospitals, the lists of hospitals is: St. Martha’s Hospital, Bangalore Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Bangalore Fortis Hospital, Bangalore Mallya hospital, Bangalore Dr. Srikanth firmly believes that the benefits of laparoscopic, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery should be passed on to one and all irrespective of the socioeconomic status. His passion and persistence in gaining oncology expertise which led him to super specialization in Surgical Oncology at the world renowned premier cancer institute of India, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai. Returning back to Bengaluru he worked as Assistant professor Surgical Oncology at M S Ramaiah Medical College and Hospitals for the two and half years. Being one of the busiest centers for VAS/BPL scheme in Bengaluru, it has refined his skills, decision making in the management of patients of cancers of the oral cavity, gastrointestinal, gynecologic cancers, thyroid, breast, thorax, urologic cancers. He was also actively involved in teaching medical students and postgraduate students. He joined Aster CMI hospital as a part of Surgery and Allied Specialties team and has expertise in the management of cancers of head, neck (oral cavity, sinuses, thyroid, parotid, laryngopharynx), breast (including breast conservation surgeries, sentinel lymph node biopsy), abdomen (stomach, colon, rectum, small intestine, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts), gynaecological malignancies (ovary, endometrium, cervix, vagina, vulva), urological malignancies (kidney, urinary bladder, testes), retroperitoneal tumors, extremity soft tissue tumors.
