Dr. Utkarsha Lokesh is a Maxillofacial Surgeon and an Implantologist who completed his masters (MDS) from Bapuji Dental College, Davanagere in 2001 and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, in 2005. He is one of the very few Maxillofacial Surgeons who has the distinction of having DNB degree along with MDS to his credit. He is currently professor and head of the department, dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, S.R Dental College & Hospital, Bangalore. He is a very keen clinician, Implantologist, and an academician and is actively involved in undergraduate & postgraduate training for more than 18 years now. He has worked at various hospitals and dental centers in the United Kingdom and has modeled his practice by blending the nuances of western professionalism, quality, and precision with Indian expertise. He is currently running an academy and a training center orbit, which trains and furthers the knowledge and skills of dental professionals across the country. Being passionate about Maxillofacial Surgery, he regularly lectures and conducts various workshops throughout the country and internationally. He has numerous publications to his credit. He is a keen learner and updates his knowledge and skills at regular intervals by attending various continuing dental education programs and conferences in India and Abroad. Has held various responsible posts in IDA (Indian Dental Association) for the past 12 years like an honorary secretary, editor, Chairman CDE, Chairman CDH etc. Apart from the busy teaching and clinical schedule he also devoted a considerable amount of time to writing textbooks. He is a music lover and loves to listen to western classics.
