Dr Shweta Goel is the founder of Vinod Eye Centre, she is a confident eye surgeon with intense clinical & surgical training in ophthalmology. She is an expert in diagnosis and management of eye ailments and her areas of specialization are Cataract, Glaucoma and Medical Retina. She has achieved immense success as an excellent surgeon/ ophthalmologist. She has been honoured by Lions & Inner Wheel Clubs for performing free cataract surgeries for the poor patients. She did her post-graduation from one of the most reputed and prestigious medical college of India PGIMS, Rohtak. She has also passed the Basic Science examination in ophthalmology conducted by International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO). After her master in surgery (MS), she completed detailed fellowships/trainings in Advanced Cataract Surgeries, Phacoemulsification, Micro Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS), Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS), Extra Capsular Cataract Surgery (ECCS), Glaucoma and Medical Retina. She has been briefly associated with PBMA’S H. V. Desai Eye Hospital Pune, ICARE Eye Hospital Noida, Venu Eye Institute and Research Centre New Delhi, VEIRC Eye Hospital Ramnagar (UK), VEIRC Eye Hospital Bulandshahr (UP), Vardan Eye Hospital Ghaziabad (UP), SRF Eye Hospital New Delhi and NEH (NGO runned by CBM) Mathura. She has performed over 10,000 successful eye surgeries, including Phacoemulsification, MICS, SICS, ECCS, Pterygium Extraction with Conjunctival Autograft, Trabeculectomy (Glaucoma surgery) etc. Her expertise is in difficult and complicated cataract surgeries She has attended many workshops and programme for specialized training in ophthalmology from Shroff’s Eye Hospital New Delhi, CFS Education programme Hyderabad and New Delhi, Guru Nanak Eye Centre- Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) New Delhi, Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences Rohtak, etc. She has many presentations and publications in local, national -author of the many chapters in books of “Modern System of Ophthalmology (MSO)” series by Dr A K Khurana (Author). Her academic contribution in book “Comprehensive Ophthalmology”, sixth edition was acknowledged by Dr Ak Khurana (Author). She is MCI, DMC, UP medical council certified ophthalmologist and has membership of the professional bodies of medical fraternity like AIOS, DOS, HOS, NZOS, UPSOS, ROAA etc. She started an initiative “Simply Eye by Dr Shweta Goel”-Learning about Eye was not so Easy before !! as a blog to provide online access to the resources of ophthalmology. Simply eye objective is to provide a portal where ophthalmologist, optometrist, undergraduates, postgraduates, fellows can access all the eye related updates, articles, study material, eye picture gallery etc. This blog is a boon to all the non-medicos as well, as they can find all the eye health updates.
