Dr Sushrut Rajan was not only a merit holder in 10 th, 12 th board , but could successfully crack the PMT/AIPG exams to gain admission to MBBS and MS( Orthopaedics) degrees in reputed government colleges. Dr Sushrut Rajan, then did his super-speciality training in Mumbai. The first Computer assisted Surgery in India was done by Dr CJ Thakkar sir in 2003. Under the mentorship of Dr C J Thakkar, who was the father of Computer assisted Surgery in India, Dr Sushrut gained enough experience, skills and knowledge in the field of Arthroplasty/ Revision Arthroplasty/ Computer assisted surgeries and Complex Acetabula- Pelvis Reconstruction at Breach Candy Hospital-Lilavati-Hinduja Hospital and LNH, Mumbai. Then , under the guidance of Dr Narvekar and Dr Nagraj Shetty, doyens in the field of sports medicine and arthroscopy, Dr Sushrut Rajan got trained in hip/ knee reconstruction and sports medicine. He further went to the prestigious Cambridge University , UK, to fine tune the skills in the field of hip and knee reconstruction. NHS-UK is one of the best run health systems in the world. . The endeavour at SJRI, Nagpur will always be to replicate the evidence/protocol based ethical approach in treating the patients. Under the guidance of Dr Vikas Khanduja, Deputy editor of BJJ ( Bone and Joint Journal, British), he completed the fellowship in hip and knee reconstruction at Cambridge University Hospitals, Cambridge. He got further trained in the field of robotic joint replacements and complex revision hip/knee surgeries at the prestigious Endoklinik, Hamburg, Germany. Apart from being a consultant at SJRI, Dr Sushrut was also an Asst. Professor at JN Medical College, Wardha, teaching the residents, tips/tricks and skills in the field of joint reconstruction. Dr Sushrut has presented papers of his work in various national and international conferences like SICOT, IOACON, VOSCON, NEOCON, Cambridge hip meeting 2016 and others. He has published his work in the field of joint replacement/ joint reconstruction in many prestigious journals including the world famous LANCET journal. A novel device for high tibial osteotomy called as rigid stepped plate, was specially designed in 2013 by Dr Sushrut Rajan to be used in Indian patients with knee arthritis. First ever Anterior column pelvis fixation surgery using Stoppas technique in Wardha and the first ever TKR surgery in Kawardha, Chattisgarh was recently done by him. Till now, Dr Sushrut Rajan has participated in more than 1500 joint replacement surgeries. With this experience, he is proud to offer his services to the benefit of patients in Central India. He is involved in various charitable societies, and conducts free surgery camps regularly. Our mission is to provide the same world class care to all, irrespective of their financial status.
