Dr Neerja Thergaonkar says "she is a licensed consultant developmental, child & adolescent psychologist with more than 17 years experience. she has a special interest in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. she has a wide and varied experience in diagnostic testing and therapy in a number of clinical situations with children as well as adults. Her work with children includes detailed developmental testing for high-risk newborns, evaluation and remedial management of children with special needs such as intellectual disabilities, autism and cerebral palsy; diagnosis and management of neurodevelopmental disorders such as attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), specific language impairment (speech delay) and learning disability (LD) as well as psychological care of adolescents with adjustment disorders, habit disorders, test-anxiety and career-related anxiety. In addition to looking after patients in a clinical setting, she regularly reaches out to the community to promote positive mental health and often interact with school children, teachers, corporate employees and middle-level managers on a variety of issues such as parenting, behaviour management, child sexual abuse (CSA), stress management, soft-skills training, coping-skills, time-management, problem-solving skills, work-life balance, pre-marital and marital counselling."
