Dr. Abhay Nene graduated from the University of Mumbai from where he completed both his MBBS and M.S in Orthopaedic Surgery. After his higher surgical training in Orthopaedic Surgery, most of his forays overseas have been centred on gaining expertise in the field of spine surgery in centres of great repute in centres across Europe, United States of America, Argentina, the United Kingdom and Singapore. He was awarded a fellowship by the Spine Foundation in 2001. In the course of his career spanning 16 years, he has been the recipient of various international awards like ASSI-Dartmouth Spine Fellowship, Scoliosis Research Society Scholarship, and International ISSLS Spine Fellow award. He is a greatly respected name amongst the young medical community in India and has authored two highly regarded books in the field of postgraduate studies. His work has been acknowledged by leading medical publishers including the European Spine Journal, India and Springer Publishers.
