He was awarded Thomas Koshy gold medal in M.S. For best resident in ophthalmology. Subsequently, he went to Lund University, Sweden for his advanced glaucoma fellowship. After coming back from Sweden in 2003, he joined renowned L. V. P Eye Institute, Hyderabad as a consultant where he worked as a consultant for nearly 4 years. Later on, he joined Bombay City Eye Institute & Research Centre as consultant & head in glaucoma department. Here he also started department of clinical research. Along with Dr. Shefali Parikh, he fulfilled his long cherished desire of starting tertiary care centre for glaucoma in Mumbai in December 2010.
