Dr Surajit Gorai

Following his MBBS (which he completed with honours from West Bengal University of Health sciences) Dr. Gorai completed his MD in Dermatology Venereology and Leprology. He then obtained the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) qualification followed by membership of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS). At a relatively young age, Dr. Gorai has had an illustrious career with a number of scholarships, awards and fellowships during his medical studies and beyond. These include the Prof R N Dutta Gold Medal Award at DERMAZONE (2014). He received another prestigious award called IADVL KIWI poster award at DERMACON 2015. He was awarded World Congress of Dermatology(WCD) travel fellowship to present his paper at Vancouver Canada. He has won several awards and scholarships to attend and present papers at national and international 2015 he bagged an award and travel fellowship from International society of Dermatologic Surgery (ISDS) to present his two research papers at Seoul, South Korea. His five research paper was accepted for scholarship in WCD 2018, Milan, Italy. At the end of last year he achieved one of the most prestigious award in his career till date. He was selected for ISD Mentorship award 2018 to work with renowned dermatologist Prof Thomas Ruzicka, director of the dermatology dept of Ludwig Macmillan University(LMU), Munich, Germany. It is a proud moment to share that only two candidates were selected from India for that award and he was one of them. LMU is one of the oldest University of Europe that was established in 1472 and still maintaining its glory. Till date 42 Nobel laureates namely Otto Han, Roentgen,Max Planck etc are from that University.
