Dr. K Suresh Gowda comes with 18 years of experience in the field of Pediatrics & Neonatology. He has worked in the Department of Paediatrics and Neonatology in the United Kingdom & Bangalore handling various positions and departments. Following his return from the UK in March 2015, he worked at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Marathalli, Bangalore from March 2015 to July 2017. He is currently working at Motherhood Hospitals (HRBR and Indiranagar) since August 2017. He has graduated from JSS Medical College, Mysore University and has worked in NIMHANS, Bangalore as a Junior resident in Neurological Rehabilitation. He later pursued DCH and MRCPCH in the United Kingdom. He completed his Senior house officer Rotation training programme in Paediatric sub-specialties and Neonates from the prestigious Bart’s and the London NHS Trust, United Kingdom and has been a practicing Pediatrician and Neonatology ever since. He further worked as Senior Specialty doctor for 10 years at Singleton & Morriston Hospital ABMU LHB, Wales, United Kingdom. His expertise is in Paediatric subspecialties which include Accident & Emergency, General Paediatrics, Respiratory Paediatrics, Pediatrics Neurology & Community Paediatrics, with the special interest in invasive and non-invasive ventilation of sick neonates. He has six years of exclusive Neonatal experience in a level III NICU and has adequate expertise in the care of extremely low birth weight babies. During his vast work experience, he is trained, skilled and competent in handling premature babies, total body cooling for the management of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, managing a wide repertoire of neonatal conditions including extreme prematurity, persistent pulmonary hypertension, meconium aspiration syndrome, congenital and acquired sepsis, IUGR babies, congenital cardiac conditions, infants of substance-abusing mothers, medical management of neonatal surgical problems including diaphragmatic hernia, tracheoesophageal fistula, gastroschisis and exomphalos. Dr. Suresh is also an Instructor for Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS). He has also been part of NEST team (Neonatal enhanced Skills training).
