Dr Prashant Saxena

Present designation : Head & Associate Director-Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine & Critical Care , Max Smart superspeciality hospital, Saket, Delhi Dr. Prashant Saxena has undergone Fellowship training in Westmead & Liverpool Hospitals, Sydney, Australia. He is an expert in the field of Interventional Pulmonology & Critical Care.He also holds the prestigious European Diploma in Intensive care (EDIC, Europe), Europe) Fellow college of chest physicians (FCCP, USA), European diploma in adult respiratory medicine (EDARM, Europe), Fellow Indian College of Critical Care Medicine ( FICCM) and has undergone training in Interventional Pulmonology from Greece, Thoracoscopy from france and Pediatric Bronchoscopy from Italy. Dr. Prashant holds clinical expertise in the managing critically ill patients and various respiratory conditions including TB, Asthma, COPD,chronic lung diseases,Allergy, Respiratory Failure, Lung Fibrosis, Pulmonary hypertension, smoking cessation; Sarcoidosis, lung cancer etc. He is also an expert in Interventional Bronchoscopy and sleep disorders Dr. Saxena is committed to providing the highest level of comprehensive critical care possible to his patients.Due to his special interest in infection control, he has developed simple but effective infection prevention bundle protocols which have significantly reduced hospital-acquired infections rates. He has also developed and implemented Antibiotics Stewardship program in the hospital in order to prevent the emergence of Antibiotics resistance & decrease preventable hospital associated infections and cost of treatment. As a Chairperson of Cardiac Resuscitation Committee, he has introduced the concept of Rapid Response Team for patients in order to decrease the numbers of unexpected events in the hospital. As an academic scholar, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine. He is a teacher for IDCCM (Indian Diploma in Critical Care). He has many publications credited to his name and has written several book chapters.He is a national faculty for Annual ISCCM Congress, Delhi critical care Symposium (DCCS), NAPCON (National Conference on pulmonary diseases) and ICCMID course of ISCCM. He is also an Instructor for ACLS and FCCS and is regularly involved in such courses.He regularly conducts CME’S, Workshops, Teaching sessions, on Antibiotic stewardship, Mechanical Ventilation, Bed side USG, Hemodynamic monitoring, ABGA Basics, NIV & End of life care.
