During an illustrious career spanning 31 years, Prof Dr. D Mukherjee headed the Dept. of Nephrology & Renal Transplant at a number of super-specialty hospitals including the Army Hospital Research and Referral at Delhi and Armed Forces Medical College Pune. He is a dedicated clinician, erudite scholar and brilliant researcher. He is an acknowledged expert in many aspects of nephrology including cadaveric renal transplant, ABO-incompatible renal transplant, and Interventional Nephrology. He is credited with starting the ABO-incompatible renal transplant program and Interventional Nephrology program in the Armed Forces.
