About Dr Nishant Kumar

Dr. Nishant Kumar is a minimally invasive Spine Surgeon practicing in Mumbai. He masters in back pain management without surgery, Mini invasive surgeries, spinal cord injuries, Spine bone cancer and Spinal Tuberculosis. Dr Nishant Kumar after completing his Post Graduation entered the field of spine surgery in 2013 and has been trained under one of the most reputed and pioneers of spine surgery in India, Dr Shekhar Bhojraj, for 2 years through the Prestigious Spine Foundation Fellowship program. He was then selected for a year of surgical training in Spine Surgery at the world famous and prestigious National University Hospital, Singapore under one of the world-famous spine deformity surgeons- Professor Wong Hee Kit. He has also spent good time to enhance his skills in spine surgery at Wales University, Munich (Germany) and Korea Medical University at Seoul. He aims to utilise all the skill sets and knowledge he has gathered from all over the globe in past years to help the Indian population through evidence –based medicine. He follows a holistic approach to spine problems. He believes in step-by-step treatment and explores all non-operative treatments first and then accordingly guides the patient. He believes in an active conservative approach which is designed, and the treatment plan tailored to patient's needs is recommended. 70 percent of spine patients can be successfully treated with conservative therapies that do not involve surgery. Our team will identify the least invasive and most effective treatment options to treat your pain, restore your functions and prevent your pain from recurring. We begin your treatment at the level of care you need, in most cases, you will either start with a physical therapist or spine physician. We don't consider surgical care unless appropriate conservative therapies fail to deliver relief. Our Conservative Approach Can Often Make Surgery Unnecessary, Or Delay The Need For Surgery As A Treatment Option. Ultimately if patient requires surgery, Dr. Nishant Kumar is well equipped with advanced spine surgery techniques. He gives patients a wide range of options, with the pros and cons of each technique based on his experience and evidence –based medicine. He is well trained in minimally invasive spine surgeries and robotic spine surgery with keen interest in keyhole spine surgeries, disc replacement surgeries and revision spine surgery. He is currently working as a consultant with Dr Shekhar Bhojraj in the Spine departments of reputed hospitals like Lilavati Hospital, Wockhardt Hospital, Breach Candy Hospital, Mukund Hospital and V.N Desai Municipal hospital in Mumbai. The patients will have an option of getting operated at Ranchi or Mumbai, to ensure that the quality of service isn’t compromised.
