Dr. Gourav Gupta did MD-Psychiatry from one of the most prestigious institutes in India, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. PGIMER is an institute of national importance with more than 50 years old Department of Psychiatry and more than 25 years old Department of Drug De-addiction & Treatment Centre. After completing MD-Psychiatry, Dr. Gourav Gupta worked as Senior Resident in Department of Psychiatry at PGIMER, Chandigarh. He has experience in all fields of Psychiatry which include Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Marital & Psychosexual clinic, Drug De-addiction, Consultation Liasion (Dealing with patients admitted in various other Departments facing Psychological problems along with Physical illness), and Community Psychiatry. He has written many articles published in both national and international journals. Also, he has made a valuable contribution in seminars and presentations in national and international conferences. While assessing patient Dr. Gourav Gupta takes into account not only psychological problems but also physical problems faced by the patient. He believes in a biopsychosocial model of illness which means interactions between biological, psychological, and social factors play role in genesis and outcome of illness.
