Dr Deeksha Elwadhi

Dr. Elwadhi has done her MD from AIIMS and has also practiced in other prominent institutes like PGI, Chandigarh and Maulana Azad Medical College. After practicing in the field of mental health and psychiatry, she further wanted to explore the global mental health sector. This led her to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Global Mental Health from University of London, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and King’s College London for which she gained a distinction. She is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and wants to bring mental health to the forefront of public health. Her main area of interest lies in promoting wellbeing and understanding resilience and its impact on individuals and their mental health. She believes in the beauty and power of human mind, and aims for a quasi-utopian world with inclusion for all. She has a soft corner for random pondering, wandering and poetry. She is also a queer affirmative psychiatrist who believes in a holistic approach rather than purely the medical model of mental health.
