I served as a senior eye surgeon in R.I.O , Sitapur from 1985 to 1989 where my team and I performed over 50000 cataract surgeries. Our team of doctors were first to get exposed to lens implantation surgery for cataract in India (PCIOL/ECCE) under the renowned surgeon , Dr Ake Holmes from Sweden in 1986 in R.I.O, Sitapur. Thus I got the privilege to become the first surgeon to start lens implant surgery in Bihar and Jharkhand in 1989. Till 2017 I have done more than 1.5 lakh (I have lost count now) cataract surgery and more than 15000 phaco-emulsifications. I started phaco-emulsification in Bihar and Jharkhand on 3rd December, 1996 and was the second surgeon in East India to do so and 1st surgeon in Bihar. Thousands of patients of glaucoma got treated and operated from me. Under the able guidance of dons and veteran doctors of Sitapur eye hospital, I mastered all aspects of eye surgery including squint surgery, keratoplasty and oculoplastic surgery. From 1993, to 2001, I associated with Gayatri parivar in Chapra where I did free surgeries every year, thus helped in laying the foundation of Akhand Jyoti Eye hospital".
