Dr Sowmyalatha

Dr. Sowmyalatha is a proficient ophthalmologist and a senior cornea and cataract surgeon. She has had extensive experience of over 9 years in the field of cataract, cornea and external diseases of the eye during her practice at Aravind Eye Hospital, Sushrutha Eye Hospital, Mysore and Dr.M.C.Modi Eye Hospital, Bangalore. She is well known for training a number of ophthalmologists. She has written a chapter in ophthalmology textbook and has paper presentations at ophthalmic conferences to add to her credit. She was a coinvestigator for a number clinical studies in ophthalmology while at Aravind Eye Hospital. Presently she is the medical superintendent at dr.M.C.Modi Eye Hospital and the medical director of Leelavathi Modi Eye Bank. She also heads the cornea department. Her main areas of interest are phacoemulsification, LASIK, corneal lamellar and endothelial transplant surgeries and treatment of eye injuries.
