Dr Shivshankar Diggikar

Dr Shivshankar Diggikar is a well-trained neonatologist and paediatrician. He completed his pediatric training from prestigious Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute. He then did his neonatology training at Manipal hospitals awarded by Indian Academy of paediatrics ( IAP) , before moving to London to persuade core neonatal training at Homerton university hospitals awarded by royal college of paediatrics and child health ( RCPCH). During his training he has managed large number of extreme premature babies from 23weeks of gestation age. He has expertise in managing babies with moderate to severe encephalopathy, PPHN ,Sepsis. He has few research publications under his name and is a member of IAP, IMA ( Indian medical association) and an associate member of RCPCH. His area of interest includes neonatal brain injury and prevention, neurodevelopmental follow up and bedside imaging( echocardiogram, cranial ultrasound and thoracic us) for babies to improve outcomes. He has also been trained in Bayley's Neurodevelopmental assessment and certified Prechtl's assessment for high risk babies. He has a vision to improve the neonatal outcomes in less resource settings in India.
