Dr Shivkumar Sambargi

Dr. Shivakumar Sambargi is a Consultant Pediatric Intensivist and Neonatologist at Sakra World Hospital, after completing his MD in Pediatrics from Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute he did his Fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care from St. Philomena’s Hospital. Bangalore. Dr. Shivakumar brings over a decade of rich international and national experience in the field of general Pediatrics along, Pediatric Intensive care & Neonatal intensive care. He has worked with the various corporate hospital in Bangalore like BGS Global Hospital, Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital and has successfully treated children for a range of illnesses including Dengue Fever, Malaria, Status Asthmaticus, Seizure Kids, Septic Shock Kids. Acute Liver Failure, Acute Cardiac Failure, Status Epilepticus (fits), Head Injury, Severe Infections. Etc. To further enhance is expertise in neonatal care, he pursued Fellowship in Neonatology at the renowned King's College Hospital, London, where he handled critical cases of preterm babies from 23 weeks onwards with a birth weight as low as 400 gms He also has experience in managing babies with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Neonatal Intestinal Obstruction, Short Gut Syndrome, Pulmonary Hypertension and use of Nitric Oxide, high-frequency ventilator and head cooling for Birth Asphyxia.
