Dr R Prabhu

Dr Raj Prabhu is a Consultant psychiatrist for Children and Young people at People Tree Maarga Yelahanka and Yeshwantpur Bangalore. Dr Raj has worked in the United Kingdom across England and Wales for many years and the last 3 years worked in the Midlands NHS partnership Foundation trust,Shrewsbury UK before returning to India. He completed his specialist training in various subspecialties in psychiatry UK. He has specialist registration in Child and adolescent Psychiatry (CCT) from the Royal college of psychiatrists, England and Diploma in clinical psychiatry from Ireland. He is appointed by the Secretary of State to assess and to make recommendations under the Mental Health Act, England. He has laudable experience in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. In addition he has gained considerable experience in the assessment and management of affective disorders, Anxiety related psychosis, attachment disorders and Neurodevelopmental conditions ( ASD , ADHD, Tics, Tourette’s) in children and young people. He uses internationally recognised diagnostic tools to assess Behavioural and Neuro developmental conditions . This includes Autism diagnostic interview, Autism diagnostic observation schedule (ADOS), Connors, SNAP IV ( rating scales) and others. He has expertise in substance misuse, dependency, its effects on physical and mental health and its management. He recognises co-morbid physical health conditions and its impact on children and young peoples mental health.
