After completion of his clinical training in spine surgery in India, he was awarded SICOT Fellowship in Paediatric Spinal Deformity at the Department of Scoliosis, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, USA which is the biggest paediatric deformity (Scoliosis and Kyphosis) centre around the world. He was also awarded with Indo-American Spine Alliance Fellowship in Endoscopic Spine Surgery & Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at University Hospitals, Cleveland, USA. Dr. Arun Kumar’s passion towards research and academics has won him many international and national awards. His research on adult spinal deformity classification system has won him Young Investigator Award from Association of Spine Surgeons of India(ASSI) in the year 2017. He was also awarded with Joy Patankar Gold Medal from Indian Orthopaedic Association for the research work on growth rod reconstruction in paediatric spinal deformity in the year 2018. On the same stage, he also received S.M Tuli Best Case Report Award for the publication on Reftractory Teitze Syndrome. Dr. Arun Kumar is the first and only spine surgeon from both the telugu states to have received these awards. In the year 2020, he won the prestigious Vyaghreswarudu Gold Medal from the Andhra Pradesh State Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Arun Kumar specialises in Complex Spinal Deformities – Scoliosis and Kyphosis Correction, Endoscopic Spine Surgery, Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, Percutaneous Pedicle Screw Fixation, Microdiscectomy, Occipitocervical Fixation, Cervical Laminoplasty, Cervical Pedicle Screw Fixation, Spinopelvic Fixation, Intradural Tumour Resection and other spinal disorders.
