Dr. Prashant Chhajed received his medical doctorate from the University of Mumbai, India in 1996. In 1998, he was a Fellow in the department of Respiratory Medicine at The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney Australia, where he continued as a Fellow in thoracic medicine, and lung transplantation until 2002. After a short stay as a visiting researcher in the department of thoracic surgery at Chiba, University, in Japan, Dr. Chhajed was a Clinical and Research Consultant in pulmonary diseases at the University Hospital in Basel, Switzerland where he received the title of Privat Dozen in 2007. In 2008, he returned to Mumbai India, where he is Director of the Institute of Pulmonology, Medical research & Development and Lung Care & Sleep Centre, Fortis Hiranandani Hospital and Consultant at Lilavati and Nanavati Hospitals, Mumbai. Dr. Chhajed continues to be faculty at the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Chhajed has published more than 110 scientific publications, peer-reviewed original research articles, numerous review articles, editorials and book chapters.
