Doctor Hitesh Sharma- I obtained my medical degree (MBBS) and specialist degree (MD Psychiatry) from the prestigious Government Medical College and Hospital Chandigarh. After completing MD in psychiatry I have been in consulting practice since then and specialize in Adult Psychiatry and Alcohol and Drug De-addiction.
My practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of psychiatric illnesses such as stress, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, personality disorder, sleep problems, memory problems, sexual problems, headache, epilepsy, childhood behavioral problems, psychosomatic disorder, psychological counseling, relaxation techniques, behavior therapy and de-addiction in both in-and out-patient settings. I am also equally well versed with other branches of psychiatry such as Geriatric psychiatry, Marital and sexual psychiatry, consultation liaison psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and in addiction medicine.
I am interested in helping people with complex problems who have not yet responded to treatment. Patients with compound psychiatric illnesses can be harder to achieve remission. Problems include, but are not limited to, medical, neurologic or pharmacologic problems.
My work at de-addiction center involves evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with problems relating to substance abuse, managing comorbid psychiatric and medical diseases, Managing psychiatric emergencies, consultation with neurologists and other specialties for respective diseases and overall management of medical team.
