As part of my curriculum, I am equipped to handle patients with medical problems needing an in-depth understanding of body pathophysiology, medicine and surgery [e.g. children with learning disabilities/seizure / cardiac disease/liver failure / chronic kidney disease/joint disease]. I am comfortable working in both the hospital and dental clinic environment as required by the needs of the patient. I have completed my surgical training from Nair Hospital Dental College [a premier government teaching institution]. I later served as a Senior Resident in Nair Hospital in Mumbai and in Jubilee Mission Hospital in Kerala for a duration of 2 years. I also served as an Assistant Professor in St. George Hospital and Government Dental College Hospital Mumbai for a duration of 1 year. During my training, I had the fortune of working with some of the most senior and respected OMF surgeons in the country who also served as opinion leaders and national presidents of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India [Dr. Neelam Andrade and Dr. Philip Mathew].
I acquired the International Board Certification for Maxillofacial Surgeon [FIBCSOMS] after clearing the requisite exam set by the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. I am also a Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh [RCSEd] certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon after clearing the MOMS RCSEd exam. I have similarly obtained an advanced fellowship in the surgical management of jaw and joint deformities and facial trauma from the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India during my residency at Jubilee Mission Hospital in Kerala.
I am currently working with Dr. C.P. Mathai at Dr. Mathai's Center for Dentistry, Implantology and Facial Surgery. Dr. C.P. Mathai is an OMF surgeon himself and is one of the leading and senior-most implantologists in Mumbai. Dr. C.P Mathai is a holder of the Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists which is awarded to only the most accomplished of clinicians. He was one of the earliest practitioners to hold the same in Mumbai.
