What is Prostate Laser Surgery?

Prostate laser surgery is a modern technique used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is an enlarged prostate condition. This reduces symptoms, improves comfort, and helps men regain control of their bladder function. Patients often prefer laser surgery because it typically means less bleeding, shorter hospital stays, and faster healing compared to conventional surgery.

Prostate Laser Surgery Procedure

Before the procedure, your doctor will review your medical history, evaluate your symptoms, and perform some tests like ultrasound or urodynamic studies. Prostate laser surgery is usually done under general or spinal anesthesia, so you will be asleep or numb from the waist down and feel no pain.

During the procedure:
