After completing his medical graduation from Karnataka University Dharwad and post-graduation in General Surgery from University of Mumbai, he pursued 3 - year Residency training programme in Surgical Oncology as Senior Registrar (I, II, III) followed by 6-month Specialist Registrar in the Thoracic Oncology and 4 month Fellowship in Breast Oncology at the prestigious Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital Parel, Mumbai followed by One year training in Thoracic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery at Asian Institute of Oncology Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mumbai. Subsequently he successfully completed fellowship in Hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery and Liver Transplantation under Prof K. C. Tan at the Asian Centre for Liver Disease & Transplantation (Singapore). On his return to India, he joined where he underwent three years Superspeciality training leading to award of the degree of Diplomate National Board [D.N.B. Surgical Oncology]. He is co-author of chapters in Textbook and has quite a few National & International publications to his credit.
