Padma Shri Awardee, Dr. Mohsin Wali is highly accomplished and well sought after physician of national repute. Dr. Wali has served as full time physician to Presidents of India, Mr. R. Venkataraman and Mr. Shankar Dayal Sharma. Besides, he has been appointed to serve family of President Dr. Zakir Hussain.
Dr. Wali, born in 1953, at Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, India, has been selected through merit by Union Public Service Commission both as a specialist and now a consultant in medicine at Post Grade Institute of Medical Research and Education, attached to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. He is the only clinician in India formally formally trained in Geriates. He has been instrumental in launching Geriatric Medicine in India through the faculty of Geriatric medicine, Ann Arbor, university of Michigan USA. He is only trained person in water treatment in Dialysis at Germany at through his untiring efforts the quality of Dialysis in India has improved to a remarkable standard.
Dr. Wali has contributed a sizeable number of book citations, chapters in text book of API, journals of National and international repute. Dr. Wali has been awarded prestigious fellowship of American College of Cardiology (USA) during 2005 in appreciation of his work in preventive Cardiology. World Health organization has also awarded him a fellowship through Ministry of Health and Family welfare, in Geriatrics. Dr.Wali has achieved success in A. G. A. Institute course in Gastroenterology, by American Society of GE (USA).
Dr. M. Wali has been recipient of Prestigious Gold Medal for India, awarded to him by Cambridge and American Institute of Biography. He has been honoured with Rajiv Gandhi excellence award for Medicine (2010) and Lifetime Achievement Award by Indian Economic Institute.
Dr. Wali has been discharging his service since June 1980 and has always been working beyond the call of duty which is evident from his NIC data showing maximum patients to his credit. He is putting his might for the welfare of humankind and has been awarded a number of National and International Awards as is evident from his CV, which is mind boggling. A unique individual, a doctor with empathy, merit and an accomplished teacher, he has already made a hat trick serving the President of India third time which has never happened before… it is a World Record.
Currently, Dr. Wali has been conferred best Allopathic Physician, Best Icon in Medicine, Lifetime Achievement Award in Medicine and Lastly Legend In Medicine by Times Group - Bennett and Coleman Ltd.
