Dr. Venkat Ratnam Attili is a senior consulting Dermatologist who has nearly 40 years of clinical experience practicing as a dermatologist. His main interests include acne and pigmentary disorders (vitiligo and melasma). He spent the formative years of his career in Zambia and Zimbabwe; and, was instrumental in establishing the dermatology department at the Lusaka University Hospital. A lot of his time in Africa was dedicated to studying syphilis which was endemic during that time.
His main research interest at the moment is vitiligo and lichen sclerosus. He has spoken on these topics at a number of international meetings and conferences as an invited/guest speaker. He has also served as a referee for a number of international dermatology journals.
